Ingredients for corn bread recipe:

1 cup cornmeal
1 1/4 cup water or 1 cup water + ½ cup dry milk
3 tbsp sugar
1 cup flour
3 ½ tsp baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 egg
1/4 cup melted shortening

Directions on how to cook golden moist cornbread:

1. Sift and combine together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.

2. Then slowly add egg and cornmeal to the mixture.

3. Combine water and melted shortening and pour into flour
mixture and stir just enough to moisten dry ingredients.

4. Do not beat the mixture.

5. Pour into well-greased 8x8x2 inch baking pan.

6. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (200 degrees C). Spray a grease round cake pan. Bake the mixture for 25 minutes or until it’s turning golden brown color.
